Preparing for Emergencies (Winter 2003)
Through extensive preparation, cooperative
planning and yearly practice drills with the Mercer County Emergency Management Agency and
area hospitals, Grove City Medical Center has policies and procedures that address natural
disasters and large scale emergencies. In addition, GCMC has a decontamination unit as well
as protective equipment that ensures that emergencies involving hazardous substances can
be treated safely and effectively.
Most recently, GCMC has responded to national threat levels by having all personnel review disaster policies and plans.
The American Red Cross website is an excellent source of information for preparing your family and home for emergencies.
