The Day of the Procedure
Colonoscopies are a frequent procedure at GCMC. You will meet experienced and friendly staff. Before the procedure starts, our nurses will prepare you in an Ambulatory Surgery room.
Ambulatory Surgery Room
The nurse will ask you if you followed your physician's instructions. Based on the nurse's assessment you may be administered an enema.
She will also ask you who will be driving you home.
If you don't have someone who will transport you to your home, the procedure can not be done.
In the Ambulatory Surgery Room you will also be prepared for sedation.
