HR

The staff of the Human Resources Department at Grove City Medical Center manages the process of recruitment and staffing, employee compensation and benefits, as well as employee health and wellness.

Don Henley has served as director of our Human Resources Department for 15 years. When recruiting a new employee for Grove City Medical Center, Don looks for people who are proficient and competent in their position-specific skills and duties and who demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills as they interact with patients, families, visitors and co-workers.

Grove City Medical Center provides a friendly, supportive, and caring work environment and Don has high regard for those who staff the hospital. “They go out of their way to help patients, family, visitors, and each other.” According to Don, the best part of his job is the opportunity it offers him to help people resolve issues, and by doing so, making their lives a little better.

Jill Tarr, Human Resource Assistant, is a 24-year employee of the hospital. Since one of the most enjoyable aspects of her own job is the opportunity to interact with many people from different areas, she believes one of the most important qualities in a candidate is that same enthusiasm for working closely with others as part of a team.

Along with the benefit of belonging to a team of “very kind and genuine people,” Jill pointed out that Grove City Medical Center offers its employees “a great benefit package and a variety of activities for the employees throughout the year.”
Jill also appreciates the variety in her work, as there is no room for boredom. “Every day is different and very busy,” she said.

When Cindy Green joined the hospital 30 years ago, she was hired to work in the medical records department; four years later she transferred to Human Resources, where she is a Human Resources Assistant.

Cindy believes that the family-like atmosphere of Grove City Medical Center makes it a unique and very desirable work environment. Over the years, Cindy has interacted with thousands of employees and feels that those who “take pride in the job they do and enjoy doing it” complement Grove City Medical Center’s culture well. A self-described “people-person,” Cindy experiences a great sense of reward from working with the 500 or so people who comprise the hospital’s workforce. And while helping employees work through issues can present a challenge, Cindy “loves a good challenge!”
