Community Relations

Central to the role of the members of the Community Relations Department of Grove City Medical Center is managing all communications internal and external to the organization, especially those with media representatives. Generating news releases to publicize hospital news, including physician and administrative appointments, medical programs, services and technology help to keep the community informed about the hospital’s activities. All media inquiries from local and regional reporters are routed to the Community Relations Department, as well.
Mona Philson, Community Relations Assistant , is a 26-year veteran of the hospital and the first point of contact many people experience when calling or visiting the department. Along with her expertise in the area of desktop publishing, Mona is an accomplished photographer and writer and publishes the employee newsletter, In Focus every quarter. Mona also works closely with the hospital’s volunteers, coordinating recruitment and training activities for this vital group of dedicated individuals.
JoAnne Clobus, Community Relations Director joined Grove City Medical Center in 2005 and oversees development of community outreach programs, hospital publications, the hospital’s website, volunteers, the Senior Awareness program, as well as advertising and marketing initiatives and special events. All requests for sponsorship opportunities are managed through Community Relations, also.
