Lights of Love 2006

The Volunteers of Grove City Medical Center invite the community to join them in the spirit of holiday giving through their annual Lights of Love program. For the past seventeen years, the generosity and support of the community have enabled this endeavor to grow, through nearly $90,000 in investments to enhance patient care. This year’s proceeds will be used towards the recent installation of a SecondLook® Computer-Aided Detection (CAD) system from iCAD, Inc. The SecondLook system assists our radiologists in the early detection of breast cancer by providing a computerized second review to help identify potentially cancerous lesions during a mammography exam.
The Volunteers' Lights of Love program began in 1989 as a way of giving the community an opportunity to honor and memorialize loved ones during the holidays while supporting their community hospital. For a donation of $5.00 or more, a light and a holiday bow are placed on the Christmas trees at the entrance to the hospital. For a $25.00 or $100.00 donation, a Wendell August aluminum or bronze star (respectively) is placed on the lobby tree for a person being memorialized or honored. The ornament will be mailed to the donor in time for holiday giving.
