Becoming a Volunteer
Thank you for your interest in volunteer service at Grove City Medical Center.
The GCMC community relations department oversees all volunteer services. All new adult volunteers are required to participate
in a two-part training program. Training sessions are held on a regular basis and arrangements to attend may be made by calling the community relations office at (724) 450-7191. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Orientation and General Training
The orientation program provides detailed descriptions of all the volunteer opportunities at GCMC and a tour of the hospital. At the conclusion of the orientation you will have the opportunity to select which areas of service interest you. The general training portion of the program provides information about volunteer and hospital protocol, confidentiality, infection control and safety. At the conclusion of the training you will have the opportunity to schedule a complementary TB test.Service Training
Once you have attended the Orientation and General Training program you are ready to begin working with an experienced volunteer. The chairperson for your preferred area of service will telephone you to schedule a time for you to come in for "hands-on" training. Once you become comfortable with the duties, you may contact the chairperson to be scheduled to work.
