Grove City Medical Center will offer its four-session education program for people with Diabetes. The program, conducted by a certified diabetes educator, will be offered from 1:00 – 3:30 p.m. on January 9, 16, 23 & 30, 2012. The American Diabetes Association recognizes GCMC's program as meeting the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management education.

GCMC's diabetes classes focus on control the importance of managing diabetes, menu planning for diet and dining out, blood glucose control, and monitoring insulin, drugs and exercise. Most, but not all, insurance carriers cover these sessions. It is advised to check with your insurance carrier regarding coverage and referrals. A doctor's prescription is required for class attendance. One family member may attend at no cost with each registered participant.

Enrollment is limited and pre-registration for this program is required by December 7 by calling GCMC's public relations office at 724-450-7191. When you call to register, you will be scheduled for a pre-assessment interview in preparation for the Diabetes program.
